The final baby announcements

Here are the announcements that my friend picked out for her twins. It took me about a month but I finally finshed 124 of them! Since my little one is a year old I don't get a lot of time in my craft room and he likes to help by eating the paper so I had to wait until he was taking a nap or sleeping for the night. I think these turned out cute though.

Twilight

Normally I only post about stamping stuff but.....I went and saw the movie on Saturday. It was awesome! If you are not a fan of the books by Stephanie Meyer I am not sure if you will like it but I sure did. I saw some online mutterings about one of the scenes (baseball game) being too weird but I thought it followed the book very well. If I had time right now I would go see it again. I certainly will be buying it when it comes out on DVD. Plus they announced that they will be going ahead with the second movie. So cool! If you like vampire stories I recomend that you go out and get Stephanie's books (make sure you read Midnight Sun on her website too) and then see the movie.

Baby wipe cards

Boy that title sounds weird huh? Anyway, with a nearly one year old crawling around the house I have plenty of baby wipes to play with. Here are two cards that I made for an upcoming workshop. The first card is based on one from my grandma upline. I changed it up a bit.
You take a baby wipe and put a few drops of different color reinkers on it. That is your ink pad now! You just dab your stamp into it and stamp onto your paper. Super easy.

The second card uses the same baby wipe. You kind of wad it up and then swipe it across white cardstock to make this cool background. Two techniques in one!

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes
CS: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Old Olive, Ruby Red, White, Vanilla
Ink: Vanilla, Old Olive
Other: Old Olive, Ruby Red, More Mustard reinkers, Baby wipe, Cutter Kit, Chocolate Chip Ribbon

This is a pin that I made with all Stampin' Up! items. I used the flowers from the Pretties Kit and colored them with markers. Then I dabbed a bit of glue on the ends of some of the petals and dipped them in Dazzeling Diamonds glitter. All of them are held together with glue dots and then I put an adhesive pin back on.

New Sizzix dies

Starting in September Stampin' Up! will be carrying the Big Shot die cut machine by Sizzix. Demos can preorder the machine and dies. There will be several that are exclusive to SU!. This is my first card with one of the dies called Flower Layers. All supplies by Stampin' Up! If you click on the picture you will see a larger image of the card. The flower looks kind of soft. I did that by putting the die cut onto a mouse pad and then rubbing it all over with a stylus. When you do that the layers start to seperate. Carefully pull them apart and you end up with two flowers and the insides are soft.

Stamps: All Holidays

New Stuff!

Finally! I got a chance to sit down and play with my new Stampin' Up! stuff. I needed to create a card for the make and takes at my uplines next meeting. This is what I came up with:

Stamps: Serene Spring, All Holidays and Canvas
Ink: Black StazOn, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette
CS: Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss and Watercolor
Other: Scallop Punch Edge, Aquapainter, Ticket Corner Punch
The Ric Rac in the middle of the card was made by taking a one inch wide strip and punching one side with the Scallop Punch Edge and then the other side offset a bit. That is not my idea....I have seen lots of samples on the web with it so I am not sure who came up with it first. Very neat idea though! :) Click on the picture if you would like to see it larger.

Fire Hydrant card

This is a birthday card for my mother in law. She is a fire chief so I thought this would be cute. I got the idea from a couple of different blogs. The base of the card is just a normal size and then I used punches and two strips of extra paper to make it. All of the peices were sponged on the edges with black ink before I put it together.
CS: Real Red, White
Ink: Black
Other, Markers, Ribbon, Lots of punches

Father's Day Card

This is the card I made for my dad this year. The image is from the Diamonds CD that I got from Ebay. I printed it on White SU cardstock and then colored him in with Copics. I just love those markers! My dad's favorite color is purple so I made the tackle box purple so I could tie it into the base of the card.

Here is what the inside looks like:::::

That is one nasty looking fish!

Stamps: none

Ink: Eggplant Envy (for the saying)

Other: Copics, Corner punch, fibers

Diamonds CD

This card is made with images from a great new CD that I bought on Ebay. The company used to make rubber stamps under the name of Diamond but now she just sells the images on CD's. You can print them out any size you want. It has been lots of fun to play with so far.

Click on the card to see a bigger image. I used Copic markers to color it all in. I have to say, these Copics are a lot of fun to use. This is really my first try with them. After making this card I had to run out and buy some more colors! :) The base is Creamy Caramel Cardstock then Close to Cocoa and the image is printed on white. The saying is matted on Pretty In Pink.

This isn't the best picture (click on it to see it larger) but....here is the tag that I demoed at the Rubber Stamp Expo in St. Paul last weekend. The new pigment inks are Juniper and Purple Twilight (two of my favorites). The Snow Cap white was awesome too. It was easy to stamp detailed images without getting globs of ink on the paper.

For this tag I stamped the poem first and emobossed with clear then stamped the new flower and embossed again. Then I sponged Juniper around the edges of the tag. I also did some on white and black glossy paper but I left those samples with David from Rubbernecker Stamps.

Here are the names of the stamps (copied from Sherry's blog click here to see her wonderful samples with these stamps) Unreleased Floral Silhouette and Rubbernecker Valentine Collection How Do I Love Thee SKU:246-13 from Rubbernecker Stamp Company
