How flippin' cute are these little guys? I found the instructions on Mary Fish's blog. I didn't have some of the punches she used so I figured out how to make them work with what I had. One little Hershey's egg fits inside each box. The box is made by punching out four of the Petal Card punches and taping them together.

Stampin' Up! Regional event

Last weekend I went to the SU! Regional event in Minneapolis with my friend Kathleen. It was an awesome time. It's great to go to one of these every once in awhile and get inspired to try new things. At a regional event we get speeches, demonstrations, lunch, a free stamp set, free gifts and we get a make and take packet. This banner was one of the make and takes. It is by far my favorite one of the day. We used our free stamp set Nature Walk and tons of other neat little things. I will post the other make and takes in the next few days.

This is such a cute new set from the catalog. I just had to add it to my first order. This little owl is my favorite but there are three other cute little birds as well. To make the bird cage I stamped the main part first then I put a post it note over the top and stamped the stand so I would only get a little part of it on the bottom. I added one of the new Rhinestones to the top of the cage. I think this might just be the make and take at my open house next weekend....:)

Happy 4th of July! I only have blue and white on this card but what the heck, I am going to post it anyway. :)

To get this look I stamped first onto white cardstock then ran the piece through my

Another Rag Bag

These rag bags are addictive! Here is another one that I made. I think I am getting better at it. They are so easy to do. It takes about two hours or so to make one. You can cut out eight fabric squares at one time with the Big Shot and the Scallop Square die. I think I am going to try to make a quilt for my bed. :) If you would like directions to make these bags Angie has an awesome video on her blog here. That is how I learned how to make them.

I just love this new stamp set from the mini catalog. She come with all these little stamp accessories but you can use her for so much more. You can put any little sentiment on her bag. I did use mine with the I love stamps one because these are thank you cards for customers but she could be shopping for anything. :) I stamped her several times on different designer paper and cut out the parts. Her pants, shirt, bag and hair are all seperate. Lots of fun but a little time consuming. I just take a basket of stuff to cut upstairs and do it while I am watching TV. My two year old is on a Thomas the Train kick so I have to do something while it is on for the 20th time. :)

Circle flowers

I have seen a lot of circle flowers on blogs lately. I did mine a tad bit different then the ones I have seen. First I punched out lots of circles in various sizes. Then I crumpled up the circles until the paper fibers broke down. I took each circle and split in in half. If you have crumpled your paper enough it comes apart very easily. Then you have two circles each with a nice soft side that feels like suede. I put the circles on top of each other and punched through the middle with my Crop a Dile and added a brad. Then I scrunched up the edges a bit to form the flower. The square behind the flower is made with the new Scallop Trim Border and Corner punches. I think I finally get how to use them. :)

Rag Bag

These bags have been all over the internet on different blogs. Please keep in mind that I have not used a sewing machine since high school (and we don't need to discuss how long ago that was). I thought for my first attempt this was pretty good. :) All you do is cut scallop squares out of fabric with the Big Shot. Put a piece of batting between two squares and sew them together with a quick X. Then you sew the squares together to form a bag. The handles are some of our awesome ribbon.

Valentine pillow box

I have a stamp club meeting tomorrow and this is the project I came up with for everyone to make. As I have said many times....I love my Big Shot. I use it all the time. This little box is made with the Pillow box die. Super easy and fast to make. One little strip of tape and the ribbon is all it takes to hold it together!

Felt and Fabric Flowers

I just love my Big Shot! I use it every single time I am in my craft room. I wanted to try some fabric flowers. There have been a lot floating around out on the internet for awhile now. I don't sew though so I had to make mine a little different. The fabric doesn't hold up on it's own so I alternated fabric flowers with felt. The felt gives it enough stiffness to create a pin out of the flowers. I added a little button in the middle and then stitched them all together (that much sewing I can handle). :)

Sparkly Love Card

Although you really can't see the sparkle in the picture believe me it is there! I sprayed the red background and the hearts with Shimmer Paint mixed in alcohol. It really shimmers. This will be one of the projects at my January Stamp Camp.

Such a cute little owl!

I just love this little tiny owl in this stamp set. So cute! I stamped him and then cut him out, added some googly eyes and popped him up on the tree. The tree is done by coloring the stamp with markers and then stamping. That way you can get all three colors. The edge under the ribbon is done with a new border punch from the Occasions Mini catalog.

Wednesday is the next meeting of my stamping group. My upline is having a shoebox swap. That is where we each come up with a card idea and cut up all the cardstock for each person coming. Then we set each one up at the table then go around and stamp one of everyone elses card to keep. This is my card for the swap. Daycare gift bags

I made these little gift bags for the jars I made for the girls at my sons daycare. I just cut a circle out of Real Red cardstock and spritzed it with my shimmer paint mixed with alcohol and then put a felt snowflake on top of it. Super easy.

Decorated Jar

This is a little empty jar that I decorated for some of the girls at my sons daycare. I will fill them with candy. You can't see in the picture but the red circles are sprayed with Shimmer Mist made with Stampin' Up! Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol. I have never found a way to catch the glimmer with a camera. You just have to see it in person!

I found this idea on Kathleen's blog. I changed a couple of the punches and made his nose different. To make this one just put a pop up glue dot on the paper and then cover with glitter! There is a little Kit Kat bar inside.

Pop can ornament

Isn't this just neat? It is made using empty pop cans! I have seen these on the internt but have never made one until now. Very easy. Just cut the top and bottom off of two pop cans.....be very careful because the edges are sharp! Flatten it out and run it through your Big Shot with the snowflake die. Attach the two snowflakes together with a brad and add some ribbon and you have an ornament.

Sale a Bration starts next month! As a demo I get to preorder some stuff. How fun! I got one of the new Sale a Bration stamp sets, a paper pack and a punch - all of them will be available to you for free with a $50 purchase next month! What a deal.

For this card I stamped the house and roof separate (the stamps come that way so you can mix and match) and the trees. Then I cut them out and popped up the trees on the background. Did I mention that these stamps are unmounted? They come in a cool case and you just put them onto an acrylic block to stamp. Very easy to use. To get the background behind the houses and trees (click on the picture for a larger view) I used markers and the Color Spritzer Tool. I haven't used it in ages. I forgot how much fun it is.

Sparkly card

This is the card I showed at a stamp club last night. They wanted to see how to use the Shimmer Paint in the mini catalog. I cased this card from a newsletter from Debbie McNeill. I did mine a little different though. I used White craft ink for some of the snowflakes and then for the background I used a Shimmer spray that I made with rubbing alcohol and the Shimmer paint. It is almost impossible to take a picture of the shimmer. The whole card looks like a light frosting of super fine glitter is over it. You just have to see it in person!

Sorry I haven't posted anything for awhile. My dad had a massive heart attack and nearly died. He is doing a little better now but it is going to take a long time to recover. Then my mom had a lung removed (cancer) and of course her hosptial is across town from my dads. I have been pretty busy going back and forth between the two of them, working full time and taking care of my family. I will try to get some stuff posted soon but please have patience with me while I work through this tough time.

Halloween treat bag

Here is a little treat bag idea that I have seen lots of samples of on the internet. The topper is made by cutting out two Top Note's with my Big Shot machine. Each Note has a little perforated line around it. I cut that off of the black and layered it onto some orange patterned paper. Then you just fold it in half over a cello bag of treats and either tape it or staple it down.

Here are two more swap cards from my uplines last meeting. The first one is by Becky Pressgrove. She did the polished stone technique on the background. So pretty. The second one is by Colleen Wilkowske. The gold paper is stamped and embossed with clear on the background. It is very hard to see in the picture but so pretty and shimmery! I love Halloween. I also love the perks of being a Stampin' Up! demo. When I placed my pre order for the Holiday Mini catalog I got this cool new stamp set for just $5! It is the cutest thing. There are stamps for all sorts of things but I used the Halloween one for this card. The middle of the stamp can be punched out and then these neat little cups can be put in to hold candy or any other little thing you want to put in them. I think it is just too cute! Look for many more projects to be made with these fun new items.

The leaves on this card are made out of balsa wood. You can pick it up at Micheal's in long strips. I went to Home Depot first and they looked at me like I was nuts asking for such a whimpy kind of wood. :) Anyway, I cut out the leaves with my Big Shot. Then I inked them with Really Rust in the middle, Chocolate Chip to the edge and then a tiny bit of Tempting Turquoise on the tips. You have to be careful on the stems because they break off really easy. The background paper is from the Holiday Mini catalog that starts in September. A great perk of being a demo - I can order early!

This is another new stamp set coming out in September in the Holiday Mini Catalog. I love snowflake (even though I hate winter) and snowman stamps so I have to buy them all. :) This little card is made by folding the white cardstock in half (like you would for a regular card) and then running it through the Big Shot with the Scallop Circle die. Just leave a couple of the scallops without paper over them and you will get a 'hinge' for your card. This photo is kind of dark, the card is much prettier in real life.

This is a new stamp set that will be in the Holiday Mini Catalog starting September 1st. There is a punch that goes along with it to perfectly punch out the decorations once they have been stamped. The red background is embossed with the new folder called Petals-a-Plenty. I dotted the little centers of the flowers with the new Shimmer Paint also in the mini. So, I pushed aside my swap cards and whipped this one out quick for her. :) It's hard to see on the scan but the orange paper and the dots on the butterfly are all glittery.

Here is another Our Craft Lounge card for their August sketch challenge. I used my new brad maker to do the custom paper brads. I picked it up at Archivers this weekend. It is very addictive!
